It’s that time of year again! Yes, the Christmas season is upon us, but that’s not the only season. Flu season descended on the family this week. That also unexpectedly triggered another season: “episode REWIND season.”

In this REWIND episode, Scott Distler, pastor of Gaylord E-Free Church joins me to talk about his book The Cave: When Ministry Becomes Misery.

Pastor Scott shares his testimony of how his apparent ministry success quickly turned into misery through betrayal.

After the prophet Elijah scored a miraculous victory against the prophets of Baal, he soon found himself hiding in a cave asking God to end his life.

This “cave” experience is what Pastor Scott wants to help us recognize and endure with humility and faith.

Scott Distler is the lead pastor at Gaylord E-Free Church (a multi-campus church with campuses in Gaylord and Sault, Michigan). He holds a Pastoral Ministries degree and a Masters in Religion from Liberty University. Scott has served a role of pastor in Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and now Michigan.

Is Richard Dawkins a “Christian”?

In an interview on April 1, Richard Dawkins gave an “Easter message” in an interview. Expressing his concern about the spread of Islam in the UK, Dawkins called himself a “cultural Christian.” He likes to live in a “Christian culture” but he is “not a believer” and doesn’t “believe a word of the Christian faith.” While some claim this is a “change” from Dawkins’ past, I remain skeptical.
