What is the Unpardonable Sin?

In this episode I look at passages in the gospels of Matthew and Mark in which Jesus said that blasphemy against Himself was forgivable but blasphemy against the Holy Spirit could never be forgiven.

Did Jesus mean that if someone today utters an incantation against the Holy Spirit that his fate is sealed forever with no hope of repentance and forgiveness?

Perhaps the context of Jesus’ words as well as understanding the purpose of Jesus’ earthly ministry and the role of the Holy Spirit to reveal Jesus to the world can help us understand what blaspheming Jesus and blaspheming the Holy Spirit meant historically or even today.

Is Richard Dawkins a “Christian”?

In an interview on April 1, Richard Dawkins gave an “Easter message” in an interview. Expressing his concern about the spread of Islam in the UK, Dawkins called himself a “cultural Christian.” He likes to live in a “Christian culture” but he is “not a believer” and doesn’t “believe a word of the Christian faith.” While some claim this is a “change” from Dawkins’ past, I remain skeptical.
