This episode is part 8 in a series going through the story of the Book of Mormon.
In 2 Nephi chapters 30-33, the elder Nephi talks about “the doctrine of Christ.” Over 500 years before the event happened Nephi describes a prophet baptizing Jesus and the Holy Ghost descending like a dove. He also mentions “entering the straight gate” and the “narrow way” before Jesus said these things.
To enter the straight gate means to repent and be baptized and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost and possibly speak with “angelic tongues.”
The narrow way is the same as “enduring to the end” to be saved. The Book of Mormon exhorts its readers many times about needing to “endure to the end” to be saved. Nephi is very clear about what this means–very clear! Trust me!
